You mean I have to work a full week?!?!

This is the first week since December that we will have to work an ENTIRE week! Not that it's a big deal, but it's only Tuesday and I'm exhausted! haha Tonight, I only had time to make one card. So I decided to make my grandmother's birthday card. Sunday I made her a pack of cards, but not an actual birthday card!

Here is what my craft room looked like while I was working on my card. This is pretty mild....

I'm so messy when I get to pulling out paper and cutting it! Anyways, here is my grandmother's card.....

Cute, huh?!?

Even though Daniel is leaving me tomorrow night and going to be gone through Sunday, I am super excited about this weekend. My mom, Olivia, and I are going to the flea market! I really want to look for a cheap frame that's a pretty good size. My husband gave me the great idea of putting up a bulletin board in here and I found this cute idea last night. So this is what I'm going to try to work on this weekend.....

Let me know what you think! Or if you have any ideas!

Have a great Wednesday!!

What a BEAUTIFUL Sunday!!

This weekend has been absolutely beautiful! Just what we all needed to get us out of this winter slump! This afternoon after lunch, Daniel and I went to JoAnn's and bought my birthday present from my mom because it was on sale for a GREAT price. I got a Cricut Expression Machine!!

I, of course, have to wait until my birthday! I really tried to talk her into me "storing" it for her until then, but she wouldn't go for it! lol I can be patient though. June 2 is our very last day of school and only a half day. So by waiting until then, I will have the WHOLE summer break to play with it!! YAY!

After we bought my incredible birthday present, we came home and I opened the windows and started making some cards. The first one I made, I made for a friend of ours who is taking his final CPA test on Thursday. They have a bulldog and when I saw t
his stamp in my box today, I just couldn't resist! I really like how it turned out!

I also decided to make my grandmother a set of cards for her birthday this week. I made three designs and two of each. I'm really happy with the way that they turned out as well.

I also finally finished something I've been working on for the past week. I saw this design online last weekend and loved it. I haven't been able to find anything that I've really liked for the walls of my craft room. When I saw this I thought that it would be easy to do.

They are supposed to resemble typewriter keys. I started with 12in. embroidery hoops and I painted them black.

(In honor of the olympics, even though I haven't watched the first competition! lol)

Then I cut my fabric into pieces that would fit into each hoop and then I took them to be embroidered or "mamgrammed!"

When I got them back, I put them in the hoops and cut the excess fabric off of the back. I used to fray check to keep it from fraying on the back.

When I was ready, my great husband hung them on the wall. (Only after I made cornbread for dinner! J/K!!)

So now I may actually have to work a WHOLE week this week! Oh the life of a teacher... I hope everyone has a great week!

Snow Day

Today was a snow day in Sumner County and all of the snow melted by lunch time! Which was ok with me because I'm absolutely sick of the snow! I didn't have much time to work on anything today because I set my mom up a Facebook account and helped her add a few friends....she already has 50+ in just a few short hours! lol Go Momma! I did make a new card last night and a new one this evening. Here are some pics.....

This is a Thank You card that I made for my mom for being so great on Monday.

You open it by first opening the center flower where the message is and then the rest is accordion style.

This was my first time water coloring using a stamp that is clear in the middle. I think it turned out pretty good!

Here is a side view of how it opens. I love it! Super easy too!

This is a Thank You card that I made for my Momma K for the bracelet that she gave me! Sorry if you see this Momma K....you know what's coming! haha I also used water color pencils and then the water brush on this stamp. I think it turned out pretty good too!

Well as of right now, we are going to school tomorrow so I guess I'll actually have to work for my money tomorrow! haha Hope everyone has a great rest of the week!!

A Day of Shopping

Today was a great day of shopping with my wonderful mother! She was very patient with me and went to all three craft stores, JoAnn's, Hobby Lobby, and Michaels. She's pretty much the best! I had a whole list of things to get and she helped me pick out some GREAT stuff! Here's a picture of all of the stuff we got today.

Too much??

I think not! Especially when it looks like this outside!

There is no telling when we will go back to school this week! It could be Wednesday, but then again, it could be Thursday!

I got so many things to do and now I can't decide what to make first! I got some great card making items so I may just start by making a "Thank You" card for my mom. :)

Here's a cute picture of my sweet Molly while I was organizing and "playing" in my craft room tonight!

I hope every one has a great evening and a great day tomorrow!!

Latest Projects.....

Here are some of the things I've been working on lately....

I finally finished the scrapbook of our honeymoon. It only took me a year and a month! lol I used a chipboard album that spells out "Travel."

When I got finished with the album, I started wondering what I could start on next. I'm not that into scrapbooking so I started searching the web to see what else I could make using my scrapbook supplies. I came across www.mypinkstamper.com and started making cards. I love her website! Anyways....here are some of the cards that I've made.

I hope everyone has had a GREAT Valentine's Day!

First Timer!!

This is my first attempt at a blog and I'm kind of nervous if I'm going to continue this or not. I've recently had some hobbies resurface. Back in high school, I used to be really crafty! I would scrapbook all the time and one of my favorite places to go spend my hard earned money (haha) would be at craft stores, but when I entered college and got busy with school and sorority stuff, I quit making anything. I've been spending a lot of time on the computer reading all kinds of craft blogs and getting all of these really good ideas. I thought, I should start a blog to share all of my craftiness! I've got so many projects that I want to start on and tomorrow mom and I are going to go to JoAnn's and I can't wait! I'm already making my list of things I'm going to get to make! I just hope that I have spare time now through March 23 (when TCAP's start ): ) to have some "me" time and work on some of my ideas. I'm currently looking for an antique window pane....so if you know where one is, let me know! I hope everyone has a great week! Hopefully, I'll be posting some this week with projects that I'm working on!
